What is the day?

Today I just woke up and I really don’t understand whats going on… I see medical equipment and this white polka dot gown I have on, but where am I? Why are all these people around me for one, and two why do they have on white suits.. What year is this, and now who is this coming up to me.

The Lady in white

“Excuse me miss,

Excuse me miss, the lady yelled in my face.. I quietly replied… “Yes.” “Do you know your name mam?”… Me; “No Mam”.. The Lady has a blank stare on her face.. Then she proceeds to tell me that it is year 2028, and says that someone will be in shortly to discuss payment.. Payment for what? As she walked away, my mind went to racing… How am I in 2028?…Then a man dressed in green.. finally a color, comes in and puts a DVD in the player and walks out. The image that comes on the screen… it startles me.. it’s me. Its a video from 2020, I was a multi millionaire that was afraid of the pandemic.. so I froze myself. I’m puzzled because why would’t I remember that. Well, thank god I had it set up, because I wouldn’t have remembered to pay. After that, the lady comes in with a receipt, asked me to sign and proceeds to tell me that my car is outside to take me. I ask her why I don’t remember much, she tells me it’s a side effect from the freeze and I should remember more over the next few days…. Ok

So I proceed to go outside and see a black Tahoe waiting for me. As soon as I get in the car I see a hopeful young women in the car. To my surprise she looks like me, Katelynn.. This my daughter, I remembered her instantly. At the sight of each other we hug each other tightly and she proceeds to tell me all what happened after I went into the freeze.

The day that my mom went in was the craziest day of my life. I had to come to terms with living without her while due to a multi billion dollar corporations greed. The fear was if she caught covid and passed that the company would go into a frenzy. So, my mom being the person that she is took a bullet for the team as always. Though, things have been crazy since she went in. It was like a power hungry race while my mother was gone. One was always trying to out do the other.. Like they all figured my wedding ring would guarantee control over the company. Like, I wasn’t capable of running my mothers company myself. Though, I guess that’s how men think these days. Well, my mother proceeds to get in the car and looks dazed.. I’m wondering why, but we’ll get to that later.. So, I proceed to tell her the years of happenings at the headquarters and she looks stunned. I mean it’s a lot to take in, these people are some of her closest partners.. Including her ex. Though, in all honesty they thought she was going to die. I wasn’t once mistreated or anything, it was just a heavy rat race between the four men. We lost two, though it wasn’t the companies fault.. they literally would’t listen. We were having some issues with the tariffs that were being imposed on our shipments. So instead of doing what I asked and waited for me to speak with a few councilman, he decides to go into the port office and gets nasty. This caused and even bigger issue of course, cause now I had to grease palms in order to get done what I needed done. Later that day, I had to let him go because he was becoming an liability to the organization.

My mom: Well, love did you even give them a chance to plead their case. Sometimes with these politicians you have to get in their face. Also granted that was the old way, a whole lifetime has passed and things may be different now..

Well, mom yea things are different now. We can’t go barging in making assumptions and demands. The days of doing that are long and gone, thanks to new government regulations. Now, Dudley is the one that I am watching for though

Mom: Dudley? What happened?

Dudley, was skimming money off the top of accounts that you had left to mature while you were in the frozen tomb. That way if the company failed you would still have a back up plan. Well he stole a cool 2.1 million from you. The only reason we found out was because his dumb daughter Noel was talking about it on her twitter page. I mean she went on her twitter account and bragged about black mailing her dad. Like, I would ask you did you remember when she got that G wagon for her birthday.. but you weren’t here..

Mom: Yea.. ok.. so continue

Well she found statements, and she threatened that she was going to tell me unless she got something out the deal. The car, but she really went on her twitter and forgot that I followed her. I barely interact on the thing anyway so that is to be expected.

Mom: So, his daughter actually blackmailed him for a car.. because she found him taking money from me. Not, to tell you. I hope you aren’t friends with her anymore.

No, I’m not. We actually had a falling out this year cause I would’t cast her as a model for my skin care line. I mean I told her that the line was a line catering to black women’s skin, so I wanted my models to represent my target audience. She tried to launch this smear campaign on social media, but of course black twitter got her together really fast..

Mom: So where is Charles?

He is about to finish his last year of law school. He kept everything up like you asked. I’m really proud of him.

Mom: Thank god..

What?

Mom: The way the conversation was going, I thought you were going to tell me he was a drug addict or something..

Really ma..

Mom: So, whats on the agenda today?

Well, We have a meeting with the Board of Directors. They just want to bring you up to speed with whats been going on with the call center.

Mom: Is everything ok?

Somewhat.. it was a covid outbreak in one center because someone had a fake negative test and now they want to sue us. I don’t know why people would have to fake a negative test, we offered all pto and days to get the test done on the campus.

Mom: You can lead a horse to water, but you cant make it drink.

Ok well lets get to this meeting, cause I’m tired and ready to go to bed already smh.
